Can I extend my visit visa while I’m in Uganda?

It is possible to extend your Uganda visit visa while you are in the country. However, the visa extension application can’t be done online. Instead, you are required to visit Uganda Immigration Services and apply for an extension there. You will need to fill out the form, attach the necessary supporting documents, and submit it. The authorities will then review your application and process the extension. 

For the visa extension application to be processed smoothly, you must possess the essential supporting documents:

• The identification card of the applicant, passport.

• A copy of the biographical information of your passport. Make sure your passport is still valid.

• Proof of yellow fever vaccination is REQUIRED whether to enter or remain in Uganda.

• Applicants may need to provide reasons to extend in the country.

The initial request for a visa extension involves visiting the immigration office in person. Upon arrival, you will be required to fill out a visa extension form, providing accurate and up-to-date information. It is important to note that a fee will be incurred during the application process, and payment must be made for the extension to be considered. To avoid potential issues with your legal status in the country, you should submit a visa extension application before your current visa expires.
