Can a Kiribati citizen work in Uganda with an e-visa?

Kiribati citizens applying for a Uganda e-visa are NOT ALLOWED to work during their stay in Uganda. However, the scope of work allowed under the e-visa is limited.

According to the Uganda e-visa policies, holders of a Uganda e-visa are permitted to carry out the following activities while in the country:  

  • Attending business meetings, conferences, and seminars.
  • Visiting friends, relatives, or family in Uganda.
  • Undertaking an educational program in Uganda.
  • Seeking healthcare services.
  • Visit for tourism or holiday purposes. 

If an individual plans to work in Uganda for an extended period or participate in other employment activities, they must obtain a work permit or an appropriate visa from the official Ugandan authorities.
