An electronic visa, also known as an e-visa, is a document issued by an authority in Uganda allowing foreigners to enter Uganda. The e-visa is valid for no more than 90 days and is available in both single-entry and multiple-entry depending on the purpose of the trip.

  • Transit Visa - This visa is only needed when you need to stop in Uganda to continue your journey to another place. This visa grants a single entrance and 07 days in Uganda.
  • e-Tourist Visa - Tourists to Uganda can apply for this visa. Within 90 days, you are allowed to participate in any tourism activities in Uganda.
  • East Africa Visa - This is a special visa to develop the East Africa tourism industry. Holders of this visa are allowed to travel between three countries, Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda. Also within 90 days, you can join any travel activities in 3 countries as well as arrive and leave comfortably.

Conditions for obtaining an e-visa for Heard Islander citizens:

  • A valid Heard Island Passport must not be less than 6 months and has at least 2 pages to get visa seals.
  • A copy of the applicant’s biographical page.
