How long is the validity of the Uganda tourist e-visa for Swiss citizens?

Generally, the Uganda e-visa allows visitors to stay in the country for a maximum of 90 days from the date of arrival. However, it's essential to note that the requirements and duration of stay may vary depending on the purpose of the trip. For tourism purposes, Uganda Immigration Services offers three common e-visa types:

  • Tourist e-visa: This type allows travelers to stay in Uganda for 90 days with a single entry, exclusively for tourism purposes.
  • East Africa e-visa: This e-visa permits travelers to visit Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya within 90 days, with multiple entries for tourism purposes only.
  • Transit e-visa: This type allows travelers to stay in Uganda for 7 days during their journey to another destination, and it cannot be extended.

These e-visas are specifically for leisure and tourism purposes, and any form of employment activity is prohibited, with penalties for violations.
