How long can visitors stay in Uganda with e-Visa?
The duration of stay in Uganda with an e-visa depends on the type of e-visa you obtain:
- Tourist e-visa: This allows you to stay in Uganda for a maximum of 90 days per entry. The tourist e-visa permits a single entry.
- East Africa e-visa: With this visa, you can stay in Uganda, as well as Kenya and Rwanda, for up to 90 days from the date of your first entry into any of the three countries. Multiple entries are permitted for all 3 countries.
- Transit e-visa: The Transit e-visa permits a stay of up to 7 days in Uganda. This visa cannot be extended, and visitors can engage in any tourism activities during this period.
Remember that the duration of your stay begins from your date of entry into Uganda or the East African region, so plan your travel accordingly.
Furthermore, the e-visa generally does not permit its holders to engage in employment activities or work. However, short-term business trips or work conference is allowed. For a work permit, visitors must contact the Ugandan embassy for more information.
